For dipped candles we recommend our special blend 5759d added with approx. 0.5 – 1% Vybar 103 (or a Vybar substitute), which is a hardener, that prolongs the burning time and stabilizes the candles so that they do not bend as easily when they are packed or when they stand in a windowsill, for example. This blend's dipping temperature is approx. 66°C - 68°C and the moulding temperature is approx. 80°C. However, in order that the Vybar 103 is totally dissolved, this should be added at a temperature of 75°C - 80°C, after which the paraffin wax is cooled.

If you choose to produce overdipped candles--a white core that is overdipped in a special overdipping wax including pigment colours--we recommend our overdipping wax DDW 100. The dipping temperature here is between 65°C and 91°C.

The 5759d can also be used for moulded candles with a smooth surface. However, we suggest that either a release wax or stearin is added to the wax blend in order for the finished candles to be easily released from the moulds.

For candles with a rustic appearance we recommend a 100% straight paraffin wax, such as a 5456 or a 5658. Release wax or stearin can also be added to these types without affecting the rustic appearance.
